UHMW-PE Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene

The PFAS-free material with excellent wear resistance

UHMW-PE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) has a structure that is relatively similar to that of PTFE. Instead of fluorine, the carbon chains are bonded to hydrogen atoms. This significantly alters its range of applications.

Chemischer Aufbau von UHMW-PE, Molekül aus Ultrahochmolekularem Polyethylen (PE), Struktur von PE-1000, Kohlenstoff-Wasserstoff-Verbindung

Features:

  • Low coefficient of friction of approximately 0.2 to 0.25, resulting in excellent sliding properties even during dry operation.
  • Excellent wear resistance even without fillers. Outstanding chemical resistance to most solvents, acids, and alkalis.
  • Temperature range: -260°C to approx. 80°C. Non-stick surface
  • Physiological Safety (Food Approvals, e.g., by the FDA)
  • Relatively dimensionally stable, allowing for multifunctional solutions
  • Ideally suited for use in water-based applications
  • Suitable for sealing bulk materials
