Paint valves often seal using valve seats with conical sealing surfaces. A hard/soft combination with a stainless steel valve seat has proven advantageous. The correct selection of the plastic’s strength (PVDF, PEEK, UHMW-PE) is critical and depends on the closing force of the piston.
With the aid of a metal carrier onto which a plastic seal is snapped, higher needle forces can also be transmitted.
An integrated seal designed as a diaphragm or bellows provides leak-free sealing of the valve needle.
